Functional Posture in Motion in Sicilia
September 15th bis 22nd 2020
It is hard to believe but this will already be our 6th Sicilian FPM Workshop. Each year has brought changes and improvements in the experience for all of us. The 2020 FPM Sicilian September Workshop will be no exception, with more classes, a new guest teacher and more options for your free time during the week.
The 3 Star Caposkino Park Hotel www.hotelcaposkino.it will again host us after the success of our 2019 stay. The Caposkino staff were delightful, friendly people who worked tirelessly to make our stay with them a wonderful experience. They succeeded. I sincerely look forward to working with them again in 2020.
The Caposkino is close to the center of the village Gioiosa Marea and is 7 minutes walk to the train station with direct trains to Cefalu and Palermo to the West and Messina, Connection in Messina for Taormina/Catania to the East.
The hotel is located directly in front of the sea and has stairs leading down onto the beach. Half of all the rooms look out over the sea (confirm early for these VERY popular in demand rooms), the other side is looking in towards the mountains. The sea view includes the four islands Lipari, Vulcano, Salina and Filicudi.
The village itself is lovely with nice cafes and places to eat. The summer season sees this village turn into a busy and active center by the sea so the village offers more than just the sea to the tourist. By the time we have arrived in middle of September it has become a quiet and charming place to sit and read and sip a good coffee.
Caposkino organizes a boat trip to take those of you who wish to do so out to the islands for a day on their beaches and swimming in the coves and lunch on one of the islands. The cost is around Eur 40,- extra for the day. Those of you who did the trip were super happy and have indicated an interest in repeating the experience.
The dates for the workshop will be 15th through 22nd of September - flying into Catania on Tuesday the 15th and flying out on Tuesday the 22nd. We will have 7 nights and 6 full days with the fourth day -Saturday - totally free to rest or travel.
Program September 2020 –
This year to improve the FPM experience I will be dividing the group into 3 levels: Beginners/Intermediate/Advanced - 3 CLASSES OF FPM PER DAY.
The classes will be 90 minutes.
Many of you wrote that the 2 hours and 15 minutes were too much to concentrate fully. I agree.
And with the 3 different levels we should have around 17 people per class – a much better class size.
Aqua Fun ;-) will again be 45 minutes
There will be a 3rd class this year and it promises to be a wonderful fun time for everyone.
Bibi Jung one of Austria’s top Latin and Ballroom teachers and coachs will be joining us this year to offer you the chance to learn enough cha cha, rumba and waltz to be able to get up and dance at any party or ball. In addition she will introduce you to the swaying world of Salsa. Her philosophy : “I dance therefore I am”
This class will be 90 minutes.

If you wish to go deeper into your Latin or Ballroom technique? Bibi will be available for private coaching sessions at Eur 60,- per 45 minute session.

Maria Gioia with her magic hands and relaxing and rejuvenating facial treatments will be back and will arrive on the 15th and leave on the 22nd giving everyone more of a chance to book an appointment with her.

Claudio Cacciatore will return again with his program of massage. His work over the last 3 years has helped make the FPM Sicilian Week a deeper and healthier experience. Claudio also will be arriving on the 15thand leaving on the 22nd this year to make sure everyone will get an appointment.
A one hour Thai and oil massage with Claudio will again be Eur 60,-.
Both Maria and Claudio have been so much in demand that invariably some people have been disappointed at not being able to get an appointment. In March I will start taking your requests for appointments. Book early and be sure to have the treatment and days you want.
HOTEL PRICES
The price for the room with Full Board will be the same as 2019:
Single Sea View Eur 65,- per night
Double Sea View Eur 55,- per person per night
Single Mountain View Eur 60,- per night
Double Mountain View Eur 50,- per person per night
Full Board - includes of course breakfast buffet, lunch (fish or meat) and dinner (anti pasti buffet plus main course and dessert). Drinks included: beer, wine, juices, cola, lemonade, iced tea, bottled water).

7 nights for a double with a sea view: Eur 385,- per person
7 nights for a single with mountain view: Eur 420,-

If you have only 1 carry on bag the flight price is Eur 52,- one way or Eur 104,- round trip. But who can spend a week at the sea and only bring 1 carry on bag??!!
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKING YOUR OWN FLIGHT.
Booking is always a bit of a crap game ( gamble). The flight price might be lower or higher.
I arrange a transport by bus from the airport to and from the hotel. This should be around: 18,- euro each way or 36,- euro round trip depending on how many people are on the 38 person tour bus.
For those of you who are planning to arrive and/or leave on days different than the 15th and the 22nd of September please inform me so I can help you arrive at Hotel Caposkino as comfortably as possible and to inform the hotel of your arrival time. If you are arriving on your own by train to Gioiosa Marea the hotel has a scuttle bus for guests. If you give me your arrival time I will arrange through the hotel to have Nico – the driver - pick you up.

I will be arriving at Hotel Caposkino on September 13th and will be waiting for you at the hotel when your bus arrives from the Catania Airport.
So there you have it folks. Please check the Caposkino website www.hotelcaposkino.it to see photos of the hotel and please do confirm with me as soon as possible (Latest by January would be optimum) if you will be joining the group.
Please feel free to invite your friends, colleagues and family. They will have the same reduced group room rate as those of you participating in the workshop. I would ask that at least one person in a room be participating in the workshop. There is a Eur 25,- service charge per person for those of your guests who are NOT doing the workshop.
As in years past please pay the workshop fee in cash before we leave for Sicilia. If for any reason you need to cancel I will fully refund your money up until August 24th 2020.
From August 25th to the 8th of September I will refund 50% of your payment. After the 8th of September there will be no refund.
